Dear Lynbrook Residents Association members,
I would like to thank you for inviting me to be part of the Lynbrook Community Centre usage planning. I know it will be one of the most exciting facilities in the area and will be used extensively. I look forward to using it and getting involved.
I have also enjoyed your company and that of the extended community at the many events that are conducted in the local area. It is indeed one of the most beautiful areas I have seen. Events that are conducted in Lynbrook are not replicated in other parts of the city to this extent, so you should feel extremely proud of conducting such community strengthening activities.
It was a very committed aim of mine to call a special meeting of council to readvertise the budget so we could refund carbon tax money after this tax was repealed. This meant we could identify immediately money that should be refunded to the tax payers of our great city in the form of a rate cut as the money did not belong to council. We will no doubt identify more savings throughout the year and these will be passed on in the next budget.
It was also great to meet many people involved in the Lynbrook Cricket Club and I wish them well at their new home at Marriott Waters which is a state of the art facility. They were all so excited and so was I.
The PSOs on Lynbrook station further sends a message of Lynbrook being a safe place to travel to and from and live.
I look forward to seeing you all soon. Hope the hawks can lift for the finals! Thanks again for your support and friendship as an important part of a great community.
Cr. Geoff Ablett
Mayor of the City of Casey
